Prem Kumar, Ph.D.
Dr. Kumar founded NuCrypt and served as its CEO for 10 years. He is the AT&T Professor of
Information Technology in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
and the Director of the Center for Photonic Communication and Computing at Northwestern
University. He is currently on leave serving as a DARPA program manager. Professor Kumar
is an internationally recognized researcher and is a fellow of several organizations including
the Optical Society of America, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the
Institute of Physics, and the American Physical Society. Dr. Kumar is also the recipient of the
2004 International Quantum Communications Award. |

Gregory Kanter, Ph.D.
Dr. Kanter joined NuCrypt in 2004 and has served in various management positions including
his current position as CEO. Dr. Kanter has conducted research or led product development in
the areas of optical communication systems, quantum optics, and photonic instrumentation. He
holds a PhD in electrical engineering, a master’s degree in engineering management, and has ten
patents pending or granted. He also serves as an associate research professor at Northwestern
University. |
